Eyecare Professionals was one of the first practices in Central Mississippi to offer the IntraLase Blade-Free Lasik procedure.
The IntraLase Method is one of the safest and most trusted procedures available – as it is a 100% blade-free approach to creating a patient’s LASIK flap – the thin flap of tissue that the doctor creates to perform the LASIK procedure.
With the IntraLase Method, tiny pulses of laser light, a quadrillionth of a second each, pass harmlessly through the outer portion of the patient’s cornea and form a uniform layer of microscopic bubbles just beneath the surface of the eye. Next, the IntraLase laser stacks bubbles around the patient’s corneal diameter to create the edges of the flap. These bubbles are stacked at an angle that is determined by the physician and individualized to the shape of the patient’s eye. The IntraLase flap creation process takes about 15-20 seconds per eye and a total of 10 minutes for the entire LASIK procedure.
IntraLase is the most sophisticated and accurate technology for corneal flap creation available today and has given many patients greater confidence and assurance in choosing laser vision correction.
Nationally, the IntraLase Method is delivering outstanding results – as surgeons can tailor the corneal flap for each individual patient and each individual eye’s precise size, shape and depth. Eighty-one percent of patients, when given a choice, prefer the IntraLase Method over a microkeratome blade.
